Student Presentation Guidelines

Choose a selection of music from any style period for which you can answer the following questions in presentation format:

1.     What motivated you to choose this particular piece of music?

2.     Is this piece Vocal, Instrumental, both? 

3.     Briefly describe the following musical aspects of this piece:

a.     Rhythm

b.     Melody

c.      Harmony

4.     Into what era does this piece of music fit?  For example:

a.     Classical

b.     Romantic

c.      Twentieth Century or later

5.      What is the style of this piece?  For example:

a.     Jazz                  d.  Gospel                   g.  Rock

b.     Pop                  e.  Country                  g.  R&B

c.      Blues               f.  Rap

Presentations will be 8 minutes in length.  You will play your selection for the class as a part of your presentation (but not to exceed 5 minutes of play time).   Please prepare a Prezi or PP (or similar kind) of presentation. 

Presentations will take place in class on April 9, 16, 23, 30.  A sign-up sheet will be passed around this coming week.
